In late Summer, 2008, a team of facilitators from The Center for Digital
Storytelling’s Denver office ran a workshop at the Wind Crest Retirement
Community. Together with facilitators Daniel Weinshenker, Mary Ann McNair, Cherlyn Boyce and Allison Myers, the residents worked over the course of
three weeks to help ten residents create nine digital stories. A husband and
wife told a story of how they met and fell in love, another tells the story
of a wooden duck in her living room, and another talks about her long
friendship with a piano.
After the workshop, popcorn was popped, the shades were drawn and a
screening was held for the residents at Windcrest. The turnout was
spectacular.
